When we find them, we do everything we can to get their voice heard and their work produced for Our Production house and online radio – for drama, comedy or lyrics. What we are looking for

We are looking for the best new writers and best writers new to the Bangladeshi Media with the potential to be developed and produced for ShoutBd Production House, as it is also a new production house.

We look for what the script tells us about the writer. We see all scripts as a calling card of a writer’s talent, ability, and voice.

We look for what a writer can deliver in script form rather than ideas to make.

We consider whether scripts have the potential to be made. If we believe a script is worth further development by a our department, we will send it to them with the writer's knowledge. Unsolicited scripts are produced extremely rarely, so writers should not send them in with the expectation that they will be produced (although you should always write your script with the same level of commitment as if it were for production in order that it is as strong and impressive as possible).

We want to see the best possible draft you can achieve with the idea that you have. We are not looking for early/first/rough drafts of scripts.

We look for original voices - and original scripts that express those voices. We do not look for more of the same – we look for something new.

What we accept

We accept full scripts. Scripts must be either a single drama/comedy or the full first episode of a proposed series or serial drama/comedy.

Scripts must be a minimum of 30 pages or 30 minutes in length – whichever you are best able to judge. There are very few drama or comedy slots shorter than 30 minutes in ShoutBd online program, and we want to see how well you can handle narrative storytelling.

We accept scripts for:

• Film
• Radio drama
• Radio sitcoms

These are mediums and formats that the ShoutBd will produce.

We accept stage plays as a calling card of a writer’s talent, because we believe that theatre scripts can tell us a great deal about a writer’s voice and potential.

What we don't accept

We do not read any of the following:

• Scripts written for existing or previously produced shows/characters – we only want to see your original work.
• Samples or extracts from scripts – we only want to see a full script or episode.
• Full series or serials – we only want to see the first episode. The only exception to this is that we will read complete.
• Short stories - these may be sent to the reading unit of shoutbd production
• Short film scripts – we only read scripts, whichs play is longer than 30 minutes.
• Adaptations for broadcast of another writer’s idea – we want to see your original work. The only exception to this if you have adapted your own work from another medium
• Resubmissions of work previously rejected, even after rewrites – make sure you make your script as good as you possibly can before sending it to us. We also do not read further episodes of a series or serial if we have already rejected a previous episode.
• Replacement drafts of scripts. Please make sure that you proof-read and check your script thoroughly before you send it to us.
• Ideas, pitches, outlines, synopses, or treatments on their own – we must always receive a script with every submission.
• Multiple submissions at one time. If you send more than one script concurrently into the system (either as part of the same package or separately) we will only log and assess one of them. When your current script has been processed you are welcome to send your next one, but sending more than one script in at a time will result in any additional scripts being returned unread to the writer.

Any submission that we do not accept for one of the reasons given above will be returned unread, and writers will be referred to these terms, conditions, and guidelines.

What you should check

Never send us the only copy of your script – always make sure you retain a copy as the ShoutBD production cannot be held responsible for the safe return of your script

Always include your contact details, including your name and postal address - scripts without a postal address will not be logged or assessed and will be confidentially recycled.

Make sure you number your script pages and put them in the correct order when you send your script, it must be well written in Bengali language and must be in PDF format.

Make sure your script is as good as you can make it and only send it in when you believe it represents the best of your writing abilities.
